Debian Linux
This is a Debian package for i386 hosts. It was built and tested on Etch, but should work also on Sarge. For platforms other than i386 you can try using the makedeb.sh script in the source code directory to create a Debian package, but it is not guaranteed to work.

Gentoo Linux
xbmsd has been submitted to Gentoo but it has not been accepted as a package yet. However, it has support for easy Gentoo integration: run the makegentoo.sh script in the source code directory as root to install the xbmsd ebuild, after which xbmsd can be installed with "emerge xbmsd" or "emerge -u xbmsd". Alternatively you can download xbmsd-gentoo.sh and run it as root to install the ebuild.
